Danï in her shady spot

Danï knows all the shady spots around the lanai, especially when summertime comes to Florida. That’s why I have to be very careful and conduct a head count when I scoot everyone back inside when it’s time to close up every evening, or when my wife and I need to go out on an errand. I don’t like leaving the cats outside of the main house. When I discover that I have (when they are scratching on the door’s lower glass window) I give then a little scold and they look up and give me the stink eye.

Nicholas is the clowder’s caboose. He’s another of the Runaways’ ( https://www.runawaysanimalrescue.org/ ) rescues which I adopted because of his little hard luck story I read on Love Meow. He’s the one who wants to play with everyone, including the people in this house. He likes to run up and then down across my lap when I’m sitting. He likes to run up into chairs I’m standing next to so he can say “Hello!” in his own special way. And with his extra front toes, the way he props his forelegs and paws on the chair back, and that sweet look on his face, I can’t help but hear him (if only in my mind) saying hello and asking what I’m doing and can he help.

Without exception all of the cats in this household are just so sweet.
