Another Luke portrait. He’s always good for a photo or two any time.

I’m still experimenting with the Lumix G9’s internal color settings. Right now I have Photo Style set to Vivid, with Sharpness +1 and Saturation +2. I’m trying to get that old Kodachrome 64 look. I’m also using the M.Zuiko 1.8/75mm, which has its own “personality” with regards to color and sharpness. It’s a tremendous lens no matter what body it’s mounted on.

Contemporary digital cameras, such as the Pen F, EM-1 M2, and Lumix G9 have beautiful color production capabilities. I will not spend a single moment in post on an image except to read them off the card and do some cropping and straightening. This is a JPEG out of the G9.

happy birthday nicholas

Cats love boxes, and Nicholas is no exception. When he’s in a box I believe he believes he’s invisible. Sitting quietly in a darkened space, he almost is. He loves to sit there until some unsuspecting victim walks past (another cat) and then pounces out at them. Problem is when you pounce another creature with equal cat-like reflexes, because they too are a cat, then the effect is a bit lost on the target cat. Fortunately there’s no foul, no hurt, just a quick exchange of spits and hisses and then everybody zooms off in different directions until the next time. Such is life in a house full of cats.
